Cyfie Farm takes in the vast beauty of the surronding countryside and is ideally located for exploring mid-Wales, Shropshire and the Snowdonia National Park.
Lake Vyrnwy – With its nature trails, excellent bird watching (RSPB centre), sculture park and children’s puzzle trails. This is a must see.
Bala Lake – A beautiful freshwater glacial lake, located in the historic town within the Snowdonia national park.
Pistyll Rhaeadr Waterfall – At 240ft this is the highest single drop waterfall in England or Wales.
Rhiwagor Waterfall – From the North end of Lake Vyrnwy, follow the valley pathway to the beautiful waterfall.
Powis Castle – Built circa 1200, now part of the National Trust, began life as the medieval fortress of the Welsh Princes of Powys. The Baroque gardens have survived almost intact since the 1680s.
Chirk Castle – Completed in 1310, now part of the National Trust, sits in a commanding position in the Welsh Marches and has been in continuous habitation ever since.
Erddig Castle – Built in the 1680’s, now part of the National Trust, it tells the 250 year story of a gentry family’s relationship with its servants. It has a 1200 acres landscaped park.
Llanfyllin Workhouse – One of Britain’s best preserved Victorian workhouses tells the story of the people who lived and worked here for over a century.
The Coast – Enjoy a day out at the beautiful Mid-Wales coast, about an hours drive from the farm. Some of our favourites are Aberdovey, Tywyn, Fairbourne and Barmouth. Or travel a little further and explore the beautiful North Wales coasts and towns of Harlech, Pothmadog or the Italian styled village of Portmerion.
Mountains – We are ideally placed for exploring the Berwyn, Cambrian and Snowdonia mountain ranges.
Water Sports – Are available at Lake Vyrnwy, and the national white water centre at Bala.
Bicycle Hire – Cycle the 12 miles around Lake Vyrnwy and take in the wonderful views.
Walking – Join the Glyndwyrs Way national trail or the Anne Griffiths walk, direct from the farm.
Fishing – Fly and coarse fishing are both available in the area.
Golf – The Welshpool, Llanymynech, Mile End and Lakeside golf courses are all within a short drive of the farm.

Railways – Explore some of Wales wonderful narrow gauge train journeys including the Welshpool and Llanfair, Bala lake and Talyllyn railways
Iron Work Centre and Sculpture Park – Simply one of a kind, marvel at the amazing scultures or visit the wonderful cafe and shop. Home of the official ‘Knife Angel’ sculpture.
King Arthur’s Labyrinth at Corris Craft Centre – Take a trip on the underground boats, through a magical waterfall, to the mythical world of dragons and giants. Explore the vitually untouched former slate mine deep beneath the southern Snowdonia mountains. Or simply enjoy a relaxing stroll around the inspiring craft centre and workshops.
Towns – Explore some of our local historic towns including, Welshpool, Oswestry, Montgomery, Bala and Dolgellau.
